"Retired 20 years plus"

We moved to Charleston SC when my youngest was 3 days old she is 35 now. We lived on Key Court and I would move back there in a heart beat. I was born there and I have lived there three different times during my lifetime. Charleston is not only beautiful but centrally located to so much. I miss it and will always love it and I would love to be back at key court once again.

Pros Cons
  1. Great place to live
  1. N/A

We loved living in South Carolina and being stationed at goose creek Base. Family friendly and let friendly. We always had fun walking the Base in the summers. It’s abbusy little area and lots of great food. We would definitely move back to South Carolina any day. It was really a very beautiful place to live.

Pros Cons
  1. Beautiful
  2. Great food
  3. Family friendly
  1. Busy
  • Recommended: Yes
  • Appearance: gated, well manicured with grass cut, looks uniform, curbs, common areas maintained, rural, neighborhood parks, unkept yards

"NWS Charleston Housing"

We lived in enlisted base housing during 2011-2012 while my husband attended Nuke school. We got a 3 bedroom, 2 bath after 1 day of arriving to the base. It takes about 15 minutes to get to any shopping (i.e. target, walmart, restaurants). The housing is older but Balfour Beatty was quick to fix any issues (normally within a day or two of filling out the online form, or you can call). The housing we lived in is not gated. There is gated housing but only a small section of it. The officer and Chief housing is new (just a few years old). I'm not picky but the base does have a weird smell, I was told it's because of the paper mill near by. The base also has a mosquito problem and Balfour Beatty is always saying they are trying to take care of it.

Pros Cons
  1. Quick to fix things
  1. Bad smell
  2. mosquito problem
