"RUN"

It's hard to put in to words how bad living here was. This was my third experience working with Lincoln for housing and by far this was the worst of the bunch. Between errors made by the office staff and the complete and total ambivalence by the maintenance crew... it was terrible. Maintenance will show up randomly even if you ask them to call first. Even after you call the maintenance office 3/4 times and explain that you have a baby and that maintenance showing up unannounced causes the dogs to bark and wake up the baby, they will still show up unannounced. I've tried explaining that mornings work best for me, but still they continue to show up 3:00-6:00pm. Even if you speak with the managers, nothing changes. I've begged the maintenance and office staff to please be more considerate but they always give me the same spiel "We'll forward it to the maintenance supervisor and make sure we discuss it in our training meetings." I've essentially reached the point where we choose to let our things go unrepaired because dealing with maintenance is such a nightmare. Once a maintenance guy told me he would be by around 4:00 and didn't show up until 6:05. Another time he showed up 3 days in a row after 4:30pm, for a repair we did not request, unannounced each time. The first time I told him to call. The second time I reminded him he was asked to call, and it should be in his notes, he told me he never bothers checking the notes before he comes over. The third time he called me while he was outside of my door. Most recently we put in a ticket to have our dishwasher fixed. The person who took the call didn't put the ticket in for 5 hours. When I called because they service tech never showed up the next day the person on the phone asked for the name of the tech we were having problems with and when I told her she laughed so hard I had to hang up on her. It's disrespectful, and they have repeatedly demonstrated they just don't really care. I'm still waiting for someone to explain to me why it is so hard to give families a heads up before someone heads over. Please, save yourself the grief and BEG to live in any of the other communities. Previously we lived in Murphy Canyon and I cannot speak more highly of their staff, their willingness to help their residents, and all around professionalism.

"The Village at Serra Mesa"

The homes are very spacious and nice. Tons of tot lots. Nice pool with a kiddy pool. Clubhouse with gym. All townhouse have a 2 car garage, single family homes either come with a 2 car garage or one car garage with driveway large enough for one more car. Thin walls, but I have never had a problem with my neighbors, only hear the occasional discipline of their kids and once in a while a movie. Living room AND family room in most units. Walk in closets in every bedroom in most units. 2 and 3 bedrooms available. Gas stove, all appliances provided. Washer and dryer in unit. You have your own water heater. patio. No pets. The neighborhood right outside is not good but as long as you don't live on Hurlbut you shouldn't have a problem-Lincoln Military Housing provides an intrusion alarm, so I always feel safe. Beautiful neighborhood. Pay all BAH unlike some other Lincoln neighborhoods in the are, but you get what you pay for. This is by far my favorite Lincoln community in San Diego.

Pros Cons
  1. spaciousness
  2. tons of playgrounds
  3. great amenities
  4. great location-close to everything!
  1. outside neighborhood no good.

"Serra Mesa Lincoln Military Housing"

I love Lincoln Military Housing, and always want to live in housing when possible. I really liked this neighborhood, very military friendly. It's a great in the middle location if you are stationed at either 32nd Street, Coronado or Miramar.

Pros Cons
  1. Military friendly
  2. Very clean
  3. Close to shopping
  4. Close to bases
  1. Mixed ranks
  2. Heavy traffic on main roads
  3. Busy at night
  • Recommended: Yes
  • Recommendations: I would recommend Lincoln for most of San Diego. I did not like the area right around 32nd Street base. Downtown San Diego is very busy.
